How To (Easily) Have a Superfood Smoothie Everyday


If you’re busy (and who isn’t?) fitting superfoods into your diet can be a difficult task.

Since many of them are not-so-palatable on their own, it takes some creativity to get your daily dose, without spending hours in the kitchen.

So what’s a semi-responsible, health conscious person like yourself to do?

The easy answer is smoothies!

Not only do smoothies taste delicious and are quick to consume, they’re also a great way to pack ALL of your favorite superfoods into one snack.

So what’s the catch?

Smoothies don’t make themselves (unfortunately!). And unless you have a realistic plan in place, your daily smoothie routine can quickly shift to weekly, then monthly, and soon your blender will be collecting dust in the corner.

To help you avoid this, I’ve put together my favorite tips to easily have a superfood smoothie every day of the week.

Buy in Bulk & Stock Up

Keeping your cupboards full is the first step to staying on track.

If you can get your hands on Costco-sized containers, it should last you several months. Just be sure to store everything correctly, and if needed, freeze the extras to make them last longer.

I also use Amazon Subscribe & Save to have just the right amount automatically delivered each month (or every other month). This is by far the easiest option to keep your pantry stocked (plus you can get up to 15% off).

Prep & Portion

To save time, devote a few minutes every week to preparing ready-to-grab smoothie ingredients.

You many want to use small (reusable) containers to portion out the dry ingredients, or you can chop and freeze your fruits and vegetables in advance.

Buying pre-chopped, frozen produce is another time saver, and can be a good way to buy “imperfect” items that would otherwise go to waste. Check your local stores to see what they have available.

Blend in Advance

There’s not doubt that freshly made smoothies contain the most nutrients, but if you’re in a time crunch, a pre-blended smoothie can save the day.

We like to make a huge batch and store the unsued portions in the fridge. Then over the next 24 hours there’s always a healthy snack option waiting.

It’s a lot harder to justify going thru the fast food drive-through when already have a nutrient packed, energy filled smoothie with you.
