Super Frugal Lemon Ginger Tea (Why You Should Drink It Daily)

Imagine a drink that cost pennies to make, has loads of health benefits and tastes great?

That’s lemon ginger tea.

When we started our journey towards better financial health, one of our first spending habits on the chopping block was stopping at the local coffee shop for overpriced drinks (easier said than done…I know!).

Now you’ll always find me working on my blogs with a smoothie in hand, or a cup of homemade tea.

And drinking a hot cup of tea has many health benefits, aside from just making you feel great (and being easy on the budget).

Making Lemon Ginger Tea

This tea does not require exact measurements!

All you need is water and some other easy-to-find, cheap-to-buy ingredients.

Read on and opt for the one you prefer the most:

  • Basic Honey Lemon Ginger Tea

A soothing tea with a dash of sweetness, a tinge of sourness and a touch of spiciness!

To achieve this taste all you will need are 3 ingredients: honey, lemon, ginger and of course, hot water.

First, cut the lemon in half to squeeze one half of its juice into a cup or mug.

Second, peel the ginger and grate it. Add it into the mug with the lemon juice, then add hot water and honey to taste.

Money Saving Tip: Buy fresh ginger in bulk, then peel and freeze the leftovers. You’ll have ginger ready to grate whenever you need it!

  • Anti-inflammatory Lemon Ginger Tea

Make a Basic Honey Lemon Ginger tea and add a pinch or two or turmeric powder. This blend will enhance the drink’s anti-inflammatory benefits.

  • Nostalgic Lemon Ginger Tea

Similar to the first two blends, to make this you have to mix in a stick of cinnamon in your mug or tea pot.

This brings a different aroma and taste to the tea just like Christmas where you just want to relax, read a book and sip a warm cup of tea!

If you are focusing on weight loss you can use any of the blends, but you should drink at least two cups a day –one in the morning and the other at night.

It is also advisable to take this 30 minutes before a meal. Drinking tea on an empty stomach in the morning can help in digestion and food absorption.

By choosing tea over expensive, unhealthy alternatives, you’re not only saving money in the short term, but investing in your long term health.

If you want these benefits, grab your mug and make some super frugal and healthy lemon ginger tea. Your body (and bank account) will thank you!
